Traditional means of producing energy comes from burning fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are coal, gas, and oil. Because fossil fuels are not renewable energy sources, they contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. These trap heat in the atmosphere which contributes to global warming and climate change.

Global warming contributes to many unfavorable conditions for the planet. For examples, frequent severe weather occurs, such as tropical storms, heat waves, and droughts. Wind hydro is another 21st-century system that is kind to the Earth. It is a combination of wind turbines with pumped storage. Wind turbines look like tall white windmills. They are devices that take energy from the wind and turn it into electricity and you often see them as you drive through open fields. Wind turbines last approximately 25 years. Pump storage stores and deploys hydroelectricity. It moves water based on energy demand. When there is a high energy demand, turbines release stored water to produce electrical power.

Because wind alone is not always reliable, wind hydro serves as a solution. The hydropower discharges when needed to produce the energy. Therefore, wind hydro produces an endless supply of power without having to worry about weather changes.

What is Solar Power?

Solar power is one of the 21st-century ways to obtain energy. It is the process of photovoltaic technology or PV. The sun’s energy is converted into electrical currents. This works just like traditional means where electricity is obtained from the grid.

Solar power is achieved through solar panels, and these panels, once installed, can last approximately 20 years with little to no maintenance. In addition, unlike traditional means of getting energy, solar power is free, and there are no greenhouse gas emissions. Solar power systems are continually being upgraded, which not only improves performance but lowers costs.

Clean energy, as opposed to fossil fuels, in the form of solar, wind and water are the way of the present and future in saving the planet from greenhouse gases and global warming. Wind hydro and solar power are renewable energy that provides electricity without damaging the planet or removing resources that can’t be replaced.
